“Erewash has earned its place at the heart of regional growth. The constituency I call home has profound industrial heritage, and seeing the former Stanton Ironworks come back to life as New Stanton Park means so much to so many people.

“But this isn’t just about community pride – it’s about regional and national economic growth, bringing skilled jobs back to Ilkeston and setting out our ambitions for the future. So far, two major businesses have signed up to New Stanton Park, and others are on the way. We want to attract that investment.

“It means so much that Italian construction materials giant Fassa Bortolo has chosen to open its first UK factory on New Stanton Park. With so many good jobs having been allowed to slip abroad over so many years, it’s great to see skilled jobs coming back to Erewash.

“The government is ambitious about economic growth, and have named advanced manufacturing as a strategically important sector to the future of the British economy. With a background in advanced manufacturing myself, I’m proud to back these investments on New Stanton Park.

“Erewash was built by the industrial revolution, which transformed Ilkeston from a medieval market town to titan of Victorian industry, and created Long Eaton as we know it. What’s happening at New Stanton Park builds on that legacy, and I’ll always support good jobs and proper investment.”
